Grundarfjörður is located on the Northern Snæfellsnes Peninsula, 2 hours driving from Reykjavík.
From Reykjavík by Car
Grundarfjörður is a little over two hour drive from Reykjavík. If going by car, take the Vesturlandsvegur out of Reykjavík. Head toward a tunnel that goes under the sea called Hvalfjarðargöng. From there, follow signs to Borgarnes. Take the first road to the right out of Borgarnes. Follow signs to Stykkishólmur, continuing in that direction until a signs appears which will guide you to Grundarfjörður.
