Talent Incubator at Northern Wave

The incubator will be held at Sögumiðstöð in Grundarfjörður on Friday the 27th from 13.00pm to 19.00pm.
The talent Incubator is a pilot program developed in collaboration with Wift Nordic, directed at filmmakers creating their first feature-length project (It can be a documentary, tv series or feature film project).
The incubator will provide the participants with lectures and one on one consulting on their projects. The incubator will give them them a unique opportunity to connect with highly experienced professionals who can help them evolve their project further.

The aim of the incubator is to create an intense and in-depth project incubator for young talents who are passionate about boosting their creative careers and getting a head-start in their first feature production.

The incubator will be a safe creative workspace which will provide the participants with access to the best industry experts and trainers to assist the participants in their projects.

Program:
12.00-13.00 Welcoming gathering and lunch.
13.00-14.30 Script writing development with Otto Geir Borg.
14.30-15.00 Coffee break.
15.30-17.00 Production development with Mónica Lee Bellais.
17.00-17.15 Coffee break.
17.15-19.15 One to one meetings with experts.
20.00- NWIFF 2017 opening ceremony @ Riff.
 
About the industry experts:
Ottó Geir Borg
Ottó is an independent script writer with many years of experience on script development, consulting and writing of Icelandic tv series, feature films and documentaries.
He has been nominated twice at Edda Awards, Iceland for Screenplay of the Year (Handrit ársins):
Brim (2010) & Gauragangur (2010).

Monica Lee Bellais
Monica Lee Bellais is an American screenwriter/producer and global media expert. She worked at James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment, DreamWorks, Warner Bros. Records, Discovery Communications, Smithsonian Networks, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and TeleProductions International (TPI). She serves on the Advisory Boards for Women in Film & Video (WIFV), the Council on International Non-Theatrical Events (CINE) and on the DOUBLE EXPOSURE: Investigative Film Festival and Symposium, which highlights investigative journalism in film. Monica has worked with filmmakers and production companies in Albania,Egypt, France, Italy, Lebanon, Monaco, Pakistan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
 
Our experts will be available for one to one meetings to further counselling about projects from 17.15pm to 19.15pm.
These sessions will be individually pre-scheduled upon requests.
